LETTERS FROM THE EDITOR, No.9 by Gordy Grundy, Editor-in-Chief Dear Art Lovers, More LOOT! There is nothing lazy about our summer days. The last five weeks, we have been on a fast track work-eat-work-sleep marathon to complete our new ShopArtReportToday ecommerce platform. Such a move was necessary as a vehicle for our fundraiser Art Drops Editions, which we will debut in August with a pigment print from the artist Sandow Birk. The wickedly funny and art-historical print will become an essential for every Los Angeleno; it is a modern day, all-LA postcard. With the novelty of a shoppe, new ideas and possibilities began to cascade. As we announced last week, 'Feline', our first gallery show, presents 13 original drawings by artist Wendy Furman. We will be aggressively expanding our exhibition schedule.
The art-themed product line is interesting. The thesis of Art Report Today is to expand the arts audience, and to present our arts + culture in new and entertaining ways. The LOOT! line is fun, alive and everyday, just like the arts can be. Back to the grindstone! We'll have another announcement next week! Thanks for your support! Gordy Grundy
