Art Report Today announces 2026 as the "Year of the Soul-Searcher," dedicated to our own internal gyroscope.
Over the last decade, we have all been through a great ordeal, a symphony of despairs. Take your pick. There are so many to choose from.
As we survey the surrounding rubble and ruins of our failed institutions, we must wisely conclude "That didn't work out so well."
Where do we turn? What leg do we stand on? Who can we trust? What works? What does common sense even mean?
In 2026, there is nowhere to turn, except inward.
Not collectively. Just individually and personally. A return to our greatest influence, our soul. It never hurts to get reacquainted from time to time.
2026 is a working year. We must go at it with vigor.
As Soul-Searchers, we examine our premises and core beliefs. Why do I think that? Who told me this? Your head and your heart know all. Close your ears and just listen to your soul.
